Marilyn Toms

Mrs. Marilyn Toms was born November 6, 1941 in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late Ms. Willie Amelia Butler.  She departed this life on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Home.

Marilyn gave her life to Christ at an early age.  She is a former member of Ellis Chapel Baptist Church.  Marilyn worked faithfully with the usher board and hymn choir. 

Marilyn was educated in the public schools of Amherst, Virginia.  She retired from Sweet Briar College in Amherst, Virginia.  Marilyn was an easy going person that loved to travel and who loved people.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Truman Toms Jr., and a sister Carolyn Butler.

She leaves to mourn her daughter Jennifer Toms; son Thomas Toms; four sisters Julia James, Edith Butler, Doris Butler, and Helene Butler; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
